2005 R1200ST battery - BMW MOA Not going to do this right now, but other BMW otwners have attested that they get more reliable cranking from lithium ion batteries than AGM. It is, however, important to get a quality one that doesn’t require modifications to work with the bike’s existing hardware (common with cheap Li-Ion options).
Starting problem 1200GS - R1200GS Forum When the OEM wet-cell battery on my RGS battery died, I replaced it with a Lithium one from "Batteries + Bulbs" retail store. It has tons MORE Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) than my old OEM battery. Very pleased with it's performance in two years. Hi there, thanks for your review. I am considering using one in my RGS.
Battery replacement OEM or Lithium Ion?? - BMW R1200RT I accidentally hooked up the wrong battery with reversed polarity to my '05 BMW Rgs. The connectors got red hot instantly and I disconnected it. I bought a new Lithium Battery from Cycle Gear. It starts and runs the bike fine, but overnight it loses charge (drains). Did I fry something?.
Starting problem - BMW R1200R Forum The specs say it will fit, give more cold cranking amps and cost less than a replacement battery bought from my local BMW dealer. I hope you'll let us know what you decide on and how it fits. My 4th RRT = ( MY) RRT LE.
Battery replacement recommendation. 2015 R1200 GS I installed a Deka model EXT14 AGM battery to replace the out of warranty BMW battery. The USA-made Deka came charged and fit perfectly for about $ (No lithium ion battery will fit without some modification).
Lithium battery recommendations? - R1200GS Forum The OE battery (part no. ) is most likely to be a AGM Ready made by Exide. Has the battery been performing satisfactorily over the last 4 years, if so, I'd get the same again but not from a BMW dealer.
Li-Ion battery recommendation?: BMW R1200R Forum
The 2 batteries that are listed for the BMW RRT are YTXBS AGM and YTX20CH-BS High Performance AGM. Hard to start 2007 R1200RT: BMW MOA I have now taken to carrying a mobile starter battery kit which starts it as needed. It went back to the mechanic yesterday. He completely stripped it out, (along with a bike electrician). He said it was starting perfectly. He left the bike at the gate for me as I was late. Went to start it, and it wouldn't.
